1998 : "Detroit Rock City 1998" (6:50 version) : Re-recorded by
Kiss October 1998, for the
Original Motion Picture soundtrack with the same title. Because of the
rough sound
production the re-recorded version would be replaced on the soundtrack
album for
the
earlier
version.
Parts of the 1998 version can be heard in the movie.
1998 : "It's My Life" : written by Gene Simmons and Paul
Stanley.
First
recorded and completely finished for the "Creatures Of The

For the
"Psycho Circus" album the song was re-recorded by Kiss. Ace

some
guitar on this recording and share some of the vocals.

1993 - 1995 : "So Lame" is a song-title of alleged demo for the
album which would become
"Carnival Of Souls". The title has often appeared as "Hate/
So Lame", which may indicate
that
the two are one.
1993 - 1995 : "Outromental" isn't even the real name to this instrumental piece which was
supposed to close the 'Carnival Of Souls' album appearing sometime after the end of
the last track in a manner similar to 'Rock And Roll Party' on Destroyer.
Unfortunately, the piece got left off the album and was given the name 'Outromental' by
then KISS catalog consultant Robert V. Conte...

1980's : "Rotten To The
Core (version 3)" : with Lita Ford on lead vocals.
"Rotten To The Core" has been a song title that Gene Simmons has messed around with
for decades. An early 1975/6 version surfaced following the Kiss Butterfields auction,
though while it never made it on to a Kiss album Gene didn't let the lyric go.
In 1989 it was purported that the title would appear on the band's "Hot In The Shade"
album, since Gene and Bruce Kulick had worked on the song (Gene used the lyric on his
"Nobody's Perfect" demo around 1984/5).
Bruce felt that the song was wrong for Kiss' sort of attitude at the time and it was
dropped from consideration for the album. Gene continued to try and place the song
with other artists, without success, and he recorded another version of the song with
members of Silent Rage in 1991.
The song was considered again for Kiss' "Psycho Circus" album in 1998, and has been
mentioned by Gene as a candidate for the new 2009 album.

1980's : GENE SIMMONS - "Master Of Flash" (Robert Blain / Jon Montgomery)
The song title and lyrics for a song "Master
Of Flash" have turned up on documentation
attributed to Gene Simmons, and it was thought that it was perhaps a song planned for
use in the early 1980s.
However, the song was written by Robert Blain and Jon Montgomery in 1976, with the
copyright being transferred to KISS in 1980.
Jon Montgomery had been a member Street Punk.
(Thanks to Julian
Gill / Kissfaq).
Jon Montgomery
has a version of "Master Of Flash" up on his MySpage.
Somehow "Master of
Flash" could sound like a cross between "Great
Expectations" and
"God
Gave Rock 'n Roll to You" when KISS / Gene Simmons would record their
version.
Otherwise
it's possible that only a part of the song was wanted!

1975 : "Detroit Rock City" : early version with different lyrics which
runs about 2:20.
1975 : "Smoke" : KISS demo with Paul Stanley on lead vocals together
with Gene Simmons
lead vocals
mixed a little in the back.
1975 : "Mistake" : Recorded at Larabee Studios, Los Angeles. (Noted
details by Jeff Suhs)
"Mistake" had been written for the first album,
but had not been used at the time.
The song is an outright country and western ballad
in G featuring acoustic guitars
bottleneck slides and an overall vibe much more consistent
with Wicked Lester than
even acoustic offerings like Hard Luck Woman".
Recorded at the same
sessions as "Rock And Roll All Nite" in California.
The fact that Paul sings lead on the verses may indicate that he penned the
song though
no byline is included on any of the paperwork. Gene clearly shares vocal duties on the
verses and on a brief bridge that modulates from G up to B.
There are sporadic embellishments throughout
that might qualify as a solo though they
are such standard licks that it's impossible to
determine who is playing them.
As it stands it is the earliest demo for an
unreleased KISS song known to exist.
1973 : "Keep Me Waiting" : the Wicked Lester song performed live by
Kiss during the early days.
1973 : "Simply Type" : the Wicked Lester song performed live by Kiss

Beside Me") written by Paul Stanley.
Performed live during club era.
1973 : "Baby, Let Me Go" : Early version of "Let Me Go Rock and
Roll".
1973 : "Go Now" : Moody Blues cover performed live during their club
era.
1973 : "Acrobat" : kind of instrumental performed live :
(aka "Love
Theme From Kiss" followed with "Much Too Young").
